Bought, never brokered
Every piece is bought directly from the atelier that made it. There is no distributor between us and the maker, which is why our margins are thinner and our answers are better.

Fewer things, longer
We buy roughly a third of what a shop our size would normally carry. A piece has to survive three separate conversations before it is ordered.
III
Repaired, not replaced
Anything bought from us can be returned to us for repair, for as long as the house that made it still exists. We pay the postage both ways.

HOW WE BUY
Three conversations, then an order.
The first is with the maker, usually in their workshop. The second is between the three of us, in Amsterdam, and is mostly about whether we would wear it ourselves in five years. The third is with the maker again, about quantity — and it is nearly always a smaller number than they expected. We pay in full, on order, at the price they ask.
